Skipper make a thread for it and see what people think.
Sounds like a cool idea to me, I would join.

I'm all up for it! (the book club)
I have so many books to read though, since I'm taking a literature course in university and it's basically like a book club...except I get graded. Either way, I think it's a wonderful idea. c:

I think 5 is plenty to get it started. I'll post a thread for Gatsby tomorrow. That'll be our first read

YESHHHH!
Though, I'll probably start off by staring at the cover of Gatsby, because evr since my English teacher told me the eyes were supposed to represent God's eyes, I can't stop looking at it....this may be why I don't own a copy. Maybe.

My copy has the eyes filled with a naked woman...

My copies all have the super weird original covers.
I stole like four copies from my high school, hush hush.

That's actually why I have so many classics... No worries. That's why I own 1984.

I also have some fabulous friends who give me their books.
My favorite book I've had gifted to me was Slaughter House 5.

I've never heard of it.
I'm strange.
I own books like Gone with the Wind, Little Women, Little Men, Jo's Boys, Anne of Green Gables, and I've (shudder) even read War and Peace.
Then on the other side I have Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and the Inheritance Cycle.

You HAVE to read Slaughter House 5. The author is Kurt Vonnegut.
We have now figured out FFG Book Club Book #2.

Because he's a super famous American novelist and humanist and he's perfect.

That's no help...mainly because I don't actually keep up with many American writers.
But hey.
Whatever.
LWWY, right?

I looked at it.
And I still can't place where I had heard the name before.
It's killing me.
It's very plausible someone rec'd it to me once.
Or I read the name in another book.
Uggh.
But I'm totally up for reading it next.
