I like unusual names.
And then I realized, the names I pick make my girls sound like Mary-Sue's on the first read through.
So, I don't know.
I really like the name Reyna.
But I refuse to use it unless doing an HP fic or she's Latino.
Because it's a Spanish name.

What if the character was of Spanish descent, though?
Like my current FMC is named Ilka, which is very unusual, but the character is German and it works. Same with the names of her brothers, Florian, Christoph, and Jonas.

Then I would be alright with using it.
But I feel wrong writing another ethnicity because I'm so horrible with keeping up with other cultures.

^^^^^^^^ That makes a lot of sense. I have trouble with portraying cultures that I don't know much about, because even an insane amount of research can't give me all the knowledge that I need.

I like names that have to do with nature. Like Rayne. Or Skye.
