Okay, this has been eating at me for some time now.
when you're writing, and using an adjective to describe the way you asked, would you use it like this:
"Are you okay," He asked, wearily.
or this.
"Are you okay," He asked wearily.

Maybe this'll help.
Since wearily is an adverb, and not an adjective, the second sentence is correct.
However, if you changed wearily to cautious(or any other word with about the same meaning that doens't end in -ly) then the first sentence would be acceptable.
