I prefer Multi chaps becuase if i really like the story and i want it to continue, i can always read on. That's not the case for One Shots. Don't get me wrong, I love them, by Multi chaps are always best!

Basically what Hal said
Although for me it depends on the writing and if I like the story.

It honestly depends. Some stories are so amazing, they end on the perfect note of a oneshot.
I prefer to read sad stories in oneshot, and funny stories in multichapter.
I think it depends on the theme/mood of the story.

I usually go to sad one shots when I feel like I need to cry.

Exactly. Like I literally was reading this happy-turned-sad fanfic while I was at school an I just burst out crying during the middle of class. It was sooooo embarrassing.

I think it really depends on the story, because some plots need more chapters to get their point across, but sometimes the simplicity of a one shot is all that's needed. I have the worst attention span ever, though. So I tend to read/write more one shots.
